Custom Stone Steps and
Walkway Landscape
Project
Our years of experience means that we can help you get the most out of your landscape project. This customer wanted to refresh the entrance to their home with custom stone entryway and steps.
Durability and safety was a key focus for this client. Our commitment to using only the best quality materials, means that our designs have what it takes to withstand the harsh climate of our Canadian winters.
The front steps on this home were built to a width that can safely accommodate side by side entry, as well as strollers, walkers or canes when those may be needed by persons entering or departing the home.
The rise of the steps was designed and constructed to be “knee friendly”. Shallow rises means less impact when stepping down and easier snow removal in winter.
The walkway border stones were hand selected to meet the specific look and function of this project. To further enhance the safe usage of this walkway, space-saving, attractive, solar lights were added to illuminate this high visual impact and low maintenance walkway… our client was delighted with the results!

At this home in Ajax, Ontario JRC Landscaping creates a custom stone patio so the client is able to fully enjoy their backyard to relax, entertain and barbecue. JRC custom built an attractive wooden fence so that this client could have privacy when relaxing or entertaining.
JRC creates custom drawings so that you can ‘see’ what your new landscaped yard will look like even before it’s completed!
Sometimes It’s A Mishap
That
Inspires A Fresh Look
Not every landscape project is imagined and created over coffees on winter weekend afternoons. Sometimes they come from a mishap, like a leaking rain barrel that is causing the erosion of existing landscaping and gardens and threatening to compromise the foundation of the house!
That’s what happened at this customer’s home in Courtice, Ontario. A leaky rain barrel was the catalyst for this project. The homeowners had the option of having JRC Landscaping simply repair the water damage to their existing interlocking brick walkway and backdoor step. They chose however, to look at this as the opportunity to refresh the look and livability of their outdoor spaces by creating an entirely updated look and functionality to their property. The result, as you can see, is awesome!

This project involved rethinking and re-purposing the entire backyard space of this home. The owners wanted to create a fluid visual feel and selected a landscape stone that could be used throughout the front and back yards. They wanted a stone that made a strong visual impact, but also allowed for the creation of softer, more flowing lines.
This customer wanted their yard to be an inviting space that offered distinct, cloistered areas that could be hived off to offer different functions: barbecue and dining area, quiet reading space and a group conversational area with a fire table that would allow gatherings to linger on into the twilight hours as the fire’s warmth keeps guests warm and bug free. The remaining space was sculpted into undulating gardens that were dug and prepared to naturally blend with custom stone patio spaces. Fresh sod was laid to create a lush offset to this backyard oasis!
The gardens were readied for planting. While selection and planting are services we offer, this homeowner was keen to put her own personal touch into the final elements of this space by selecting and planting the flowers, bushes and ground covers that would complement the serenity of this tranquil space.
