This cottage owner in Bobcaygeon used strategic functional accents to make his property functional and even more stunning! A stone walkway from his sliding doors leads to an existing patio. Now family and guests track in less debris and dirt – especially on rainy days. A small Barbeque pad allows the chef and the barbeque to sit on level, sturdy ground, regardless of the weather. A stone bed (for drainage) canoe stand and storage area keeps the equipment neatly tucked away while at the same time being convenient to access by guests.

Protecting beloved features like old and majestic trees on a property can be a puzzle. JRC Landscaping came up with a solution that ticked many boxes for this property owner. A large circular retaining wall was built around a beautiful old tree. The circumference of the circle protected the root system of the tree and that protection was further enhanced by the addition of a garden bed that can be filled with annuals that produce a riot of dazzling colour in the summer season. The ledge of the retaining wall offers a vast seating area for guests that attend an annual event hosted at this property.
